Why More Women Should Lift

"When I first started trying to lose weight, I realized that just doing cardio would help me lose weight, but it wouldn't give me any definition. So I focused on weight lifting instead, really zoning in on three big lifts: the deadlift, squat, and bench press. When I began I was nervous and didn't know what I was doing. What I found through it was that I began to love my body and the transformations it was going through. Lifting heavy has transformed my body, not into that of a bulky man, but into a leaner, stronger woman. I enjoyed the strength it gave me and the way it made me feel, by doing cool things like moving over 100 pounds of weight on my back."

"The benefits for me were not only physical change but mentally I felt better, more clear, and happier with myself. I was and am more confident with myself and began to appreciate my body for other things, and see it not just as fat or muscle, but to see it as something that can do amazing things."

"Weightlifting has changed my life. It has challenged me in ways I didn't know were possible. I've found a lifelong hobby in lifting, while also bettering my overall health. I've gained a new appreciation for my body and what it is capable of! When I started my journey, I had gained more weight than I was ever comfortable with and knew I needed to make a change. Weightlifting has made the number on the scale go down, but it has also completely altered my body composition in a fantastic way. I find myself checking myself out in the mirror! Lifting is now a part of my life and I don't see it leaving anytime soon."
